This week in ISM, I had the ability to construct my first Interview assessment and I wrote my 5th research assessment. In the interview assessment, I had the opportunity to look back at my interview with Dr. Charles Roberts with more detail. I looked back on all the notes and gave a recollection of the day. From the location and the moment I got there to the final handshake and me departing the hospital, I explained every detail. Looking over the notes and writing this interview assessment gave me the chance to further understand the answers the doctor gave me. Especially the advice he gave me is what I found the most interesting. Even some of the general advice he gave me about the advantages of speaking with fluency in the English language to the mindset I must have in the profession, gave me almost a second understanding. Soon I plan on making Dr. Charles Roberts my Official Mentor and I can not wait! For this latest research assessment, I decided to research the anesthesia used during Cardiothoracic surgery. It was very interesting to learn about the very edgy methods that were used in the past to administer some sort of sedation to the patient. It is truly astounding to see a huge difference there is from today's technology to the technology used in the past. It made me understand and appreciate the vast difficulties of being the anesthesiologist who has to manage the multitude of various details in keeping the patient pain free. It is truly a critical job in the operating room that makes both the patients and the surgeons lives easier.
